Roles and Responsibilities

This Data Analyst is responsible for working within or across multiple business units to design and build analytics solutions for issues facing our internal business and external business partners. You must be self-directed and creative as you will deal with some very interesting and complex issues. As a key resource to others, you maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.

  • Analyzing data and creating reports and presentations to assist decision-making capabilities.

  • Detecting and addressing data issues and solving data mapping or quality problems.

  • Developing successful methods for analyzing and presenting healthcare (medical and pharmacy) data.

  • Performing research and providing ad hoc results to management.

  • Designing, building, and maintaining SQL and SSIS efforts that help support and facilitate business efforts.

  • Serve as an SME for the development of processes/architecture to combine healthcare claims (medical and pharmacy) data into integrated data platforms.

  • Identify data requirements to integrate new data sources; perform technical analytics to confirm data integration meets or exceeds defined expectations.

  • Performing analysis to identify best business practices based on current and historical data.

  • Continuous Improvement of existing processes to better align with changing operations and business needs.

  • Developing innovative ways to address and appropriately prioritize varying information needs.

  • Monitoring and report on program performance and outcomes.

  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

We are looking for passionate healthcare data analysts who share our passion for getting to the truth, and who share our commitment to improving the way healthcare is paid for.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role creating and maintaining reports, maintaining queries, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.

  • 5+ years of data reporting/analytics experience in a payer and/or provider setting.

  • 3+ years of experience writing SQL queries, tables, and stored procedures.

  • Intermediate knowledge working with SSIS.

  • Experience creating analytic models for specific business purposes such as forecasting, ROI, program valuation, etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of building database reports.

  • Experience working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, pivots.

  • Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to deliver.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and solve problems under tight deadlines.

  • Must have access to secure, high-speed internet for a home office.

  • Must be able to work the Eastern Standard Time Zone.

  • Willingness to travel 25%.

Preferred Skills

  • Graduate degree in statistics, economic, public health, data science, or a related quantitative area.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare actuarial concepts.

  • Experience in handling and managing large volumes of data.

  • Intermediate knowledge working with VBA or .NET.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
