As Goodroot’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Goldberg brings nearly three decades of experience and a deep-seated passion for population health and financial rigor to the forefront. Having served in Fortune 500 companies as a Chief Medical Officer, a Chief Health Officer and a driving force behind bringing innovative healthcare solutions to market, Dr. Goldberg’s guidance is instrumental in enriching Goodroot’s portfolio of companies.
At Goodroot, Dr. Goldberg collaborates with the Chief People Officer to continually advance the company’s own self-funded employee health benefits program through Sola Health. He works to drive an optimal employee experience, focusing on population health and cost trends. Dr. Goldberg also brings his detailed knowledge of benefit design to enhance healthcare outcomes while simultaneously reducing costs.
“Dr. G” earned a BA from Georgetown University, an MD from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, completed Family Medicine residency training at the Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City, NY and earned an MBA in Healthcare from Binghamton University. Most recently, Dr. Goldberg served as VP, Chief Health Officer, Quest Diagnostics, where he provided physician guidance for health benefits and consulted with the enterprise’s investment fund and new ventures business unit. Dr. Goldberg and the Quest Diagnostics team earned widespread accolades, including the 2020 C. Everett Koop award. He was a Modern Healthcare 2020 “100 Most influential in Healthcare.” His previous roles include service at leading healthcare enterprises including WellCare Health Plans (now part of Centene), Aetna (now CVS/Aetna) and Express Scripts (now part of Cigna).
