As Chief Information Officer at Goodroot, Markus brings 3 decades of healthcare technology experience to lead a wide variety of infrastructure projects and solutions across Goodroot’s community of companies. He will serve as HIPAA Security Officer and ensure each organizational affiliate is compliant with internal information technology controls supporting HIPAA, SOC 2, and other applicable security standards.

Markus has an entrepreneurial background and has made a career by innovating ways to use technology to solve business problems. In addition to serving the current community of Goodroot companies, Markus will seek out game-changing partners with missions that align with Goodroot — lowering healthcare costs and eliminating medical debt

Markus brings to the Goodroot team his unique experience in understanding and developing technology solutions for the healthcare industry as shown throughout his career. Markus has held various executive leadership roles that include leading strategic planning, budgeting, cross-departmental communications, and execution of the information technology strategy for major large-scale organizations like PharMerica, WellDyne, and Healthesystems. He was founder and CEO of Waite Systems, a database and IT systems consulting agency and co-founder of AMS Benefits, an industry-leading web-based software system for employee benefits brokers.
